Account Manager - Sales

We’re looking for a Sales Account Manager who loves building strong client relationships and bringing ideas to life through print.

In this role you’ll manage and grow a portfolio of key clients, helping them deliver impactful print, large format and signage solutions. From retail displays and signage to marketing collateral and creative print, you’ll work with clients to understand their needs and deliver smart, commercially sound solutions.

You’ll collaborate closely with our internal production, creative and accounts teams to ensure projects run smoothly from concept through to delivery.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role where no two days are the same, perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, managing projects and seeing their work out in the world.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of client accounts
  • Develop new business opportunities and convert prospects into long-term clients
  • Build trusted relationships and act as the key contact for client projects
  • Identify client challenges and recommend print, large format and signage solutions
  • Prepare accurate quotes using PRINT IQ or similar systems
  • Manage projects from initial brief through production to final delivery
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently achieve revenue targets
  • Deliver projects on time, on budget and to a high standard

 

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in print sales, account management or business development
  • A track record of growing revenue through both existing accounts and new client acquisition
  • Strong knowledge of large format print and signage
  • Understanding of print production processes, including offset, digital and wide format
  • Experience with PRINT IQ or similar estimating systems
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and presentation skills
  • Commercial acumen with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and results-driven
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Business Feature Writer / Sub-Editor

We're looking for a Business Feature Writer/Sub-Editor to create compelling content across digital and print channels for our owned and client business titles, including NZ Marketing magazine, StopPress, Farmlander magazine and more. Working alongside our Editorial Director and the wider team, you'll develop compelling ideas that translate from magazine feature stories through to digital copy. A high level of writing skill and attention to detail is a given, as is a passion for producing content that genuinely engages audiences.
 
What you'll be doing
  • Writing feature articles for each issue of our print magazines and creating original content for digital channels
  • Repurposing magazine feature content into digital and social assets tailored to each channel, increasing audience engagement and delivering greater value for clients and SCG titles
  • Sub-editing two quarterly print magazines
  • Writing advertorial-style/client content
  • Interviewing business leaders, farmers, growers and clients
  • Attending industry events and workshops
  • Contributing to and helping develop editorial themes and plans for the relevant titles
  • Bringing an enquiring mind and genuine passion for the marcomms and agriculture industries
 
What you'll bring
  • Experience writing compelling content, preferably for a business-minded audience
  • A degree in journalism or English (preferable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional, proven sub-editing skills
  • The ability to work effectively and think critically in a fast-paced environment
  • A keen interest in current and business affairs, including marketing and advertising
  • Agency or newsroom experience (preferable)
